While attending Parsons School of Design in Paris, she worked for Harper's Bazaar, then earned an MFA in film studies from the American Film Institute, where she studied costume/production design. She was the West Coast editor for GQ, ALLURE, Marie Claire, and Domino Magazine laying the groundwork for her impactful contributions to the fashion and entertainment industries.
In 2013, Mary Alice embarked on a new chapter with the launch of HANEY, a luxury ready-to-wear label based in downtown Los Angeles. With a vision to infuse Hollywood glamour into every garment, she created dresses that exuded red carpet allure while maintaining an essence of ease and relaxation. Her impeccable designs have graced the forms of esteemed celebrities including Taylor Swift, Reese Witherspoon, Emily Ratajkowski, Chrissy Teigen, and many more, solidifying her status as a sought-after designer in the industry.
HANEY was launched by Net-A-Porter and availability at select retailers worldwide, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Shopbop, FRWD and Nordstrom. Through her eponymous label and online platform, Mary Alice redefined contemporary elegance, offering women access to impeccable style with a touch of Hollywood allure.
